Care & Cleaning

Chefspecs® Kitchen Readers:  The easiest way to clean lenses is with a soft cloth and any lens cleaner, but the real beauty of Chefspecs® is that you may also remove grease and cooking residue by placing these glasses in the top rack of your dishwasher!  That’s right – just fold them into their closed position and place in a secure position on the top rack, unencumbered by other dishes or glasses.  Run the dishwasher on a gentle/light cycle, without heat – or remember to pull the glasses out before the heat drying begins.  Simply wipe off the lenses with a soft cloth, and return your Chefspecs® to their original canister so they will be ready for your next culinary adventure!

Nitespecs ® LED Readers:  Lenses should be gently cleaned with a soft cloth and any lens cleaner, but please note that Nitespecs ® are NOT dishwasher safe.  To replace batteries, please follow the instructions below – noting that battery compartments may differ slightly from one style of LED glasses to the next.

Battery Replacement:

  1. Remove/slide off battery cover:  Using small screwdriver (unless your glasses have the new sliding battery cover), remove one small screw and gently slide battery cover off until 2 batteries are visible.
  2. Note exact placement of batteries prior to removing them, and replace batteries in exact same position.
  3. Once replacement batteries are in place, return battery cover to original position.  Be sure to test LED light by turning switch on/off before screwing cover back into locked position.
